James Moorcroft has vowed to come back stronger after defeat, with a move up to super-welterweight planned for the New Year.
The Wigan boxer, trained by Project Boxing co-founder Anthony Crolla, was beaten on points in a very close fight with Matthew Rennie at Bolton’s Toughsheet Stadium.
“I’m a six foot man. I was walking round at 14 stone before I started boxing at 21, so 11 stone [now] for me. I’m looking forward to that move now,” said James.
